That looks really tough, not really a fan of the patina look but I'd be happy with that as is, going to make a great hauler.

not been able to do much to her as yet ,checked a few things over and anti-freezzed, her . trying to suorce some bits etc , but i,ve had other problems to deal with so she,s sort of taking a back seat

Sorry to hear about the other problem that you are dealing with. I think wrecker is the way to go, perhaps an old Holmes Wrecking gear or make one to suit you, it would make a very useful truck.

5th wheel is back on her at the moment ,,

i was going to get/build a single axle step frame trailer ,,but its more work and the acces to my place is tooo tight to get an artic in so the trailer would need to be kept somewhere else away from home ,,=== which would ==more problems ..

I would be looking for a salvage late model Iveco Daily and put the cab on it, get some adapters made to keep the origonal wheels and tyres.

No other way of looking at it for my money, trying to restore it will take forever to source brake & steering parts, same problems with engine and trans, a mountain of refurbing stuff all to eventually end up with an underpowered, shit steering, hard to stop old truck that you wont want to go anywhere in.

Ive done 60,000 miles in mine and love it more everyday :)

that was one thing i first thought ,, but its pretty rare as it is and its only done 47000. one family owner from new ,engine, trans, and the eaton 2speed rear all seems excetpionally good.
i also have a 58 dodge flatbed pickup to do ,, now that may just go the ,,upgrade,, route .

I was looking at an Isuzu Grafter the other day 3.5 tonne, a proper truck chassis.

i,v got to be honest,, the way things have been going lately i may just sell up quick ,, i, really dont want to sell the GMC but if i have to then i will,,
the f350 and the dodge will go first before the GMC and ,EMILY,,,
