Nice to see my old axle still going strong after all these years! Rebuild is looking great.

Small world Steve. If that's the 9" that Ruedi had fitted, I was the one on my back under the car when Reg Chatwin and I installed it (having duplicated all the brackets from the old 8"), in the garage at the back of Wayne Saunders' house in Oldbury when the car was being prepped for paint.

Be good to see it out again. Come to that, ain't Hot Rod Technologies Reudi's company?

Just took a closer look at the pics, should have known it was the same axle as I just spotted it was a nodular unit. I can't remember what time of year it was when we hung the axle but I guess October/ November time and it was absolutely freezing cold, all wrapped up in t shirts, sweat shirts, jumpers and overalls. Wayne had a wood burning stove in the garage, by the time we finished, t shirts were order of the day!!

Great memories indeed and I'll try to remember how to spell your name in future. The Top Gear photos are interesting as the Chevelle was Roy Giles', which was a car we back halved, caged and tubbed at RHC.
Somewhere in my 'library' I have the copy of Street Rodder with your letter showing pictures of the 8 just before paint I guess.

Could well be. don't have the mag to hand but the timescale is about right, we did the work early 85 I think. It was at Old Warden two years ago, still looked great, owned by a SM freelance writer I think, Andy Miles?
