Some of you might remember my Capri, it is the one featured being built in Street Machine, in the late 90's.
I've had it since 2007, & other than changing the wheels, have mainly just used it as is.

I knew it had a few bodywork issues, not helped by sitting on my drive under a cover for 6 years.
Last summer, I had a garage built, & decided to take it off the road & sort it out.
I'm in no rush to finish it, gonna take my time & do it as & when.

Before.

One of the worst areas was the O/S 'screen pillar. It's double skinned, with a strengthener inside. All were corroded.
Quite a tricky repair, I'm doing it by welding lots of small sections together to form the double curvature pieces.

I'm on strike all week, so decided to have a look at the rear panel/valance area.
Got the rear valance off that I will repair later, & found this.
A load of filler & newspaper dating from 1995, so there before the SM article.

Not condoning the use of so much filler and paper but you have to agree it has lasted a long time. Love the fact you are doing it right, should last a lot longer.

Gonna use the newspaper as masking paper.
Recycling at its best!
