Anyway, Tetanus is now in 125 pieces as I'm fitting a carbed Zetec in place of the heavy pinto that was fitted before, which was fitted after the RV8 went bang, after the last pinto went pop, after the Essex that diedů we have history ;)

I'll post some more when I work out how to do the Phone thing properly.

Thanks, I think!
I've learnt some things along the way, one being RV8s don't like you trying to rev the nuts of them for too long :( well mine didn't anyway.

Thank you Kev, kind words indeed.
It's been and is still a journey, there were times that I lost the path, but since I found the destination all the steps are in the right direction now.
Having zero money to spend hasn't helped though :(

Hello,
Cheers chap,
Spec's at the moment (subject to change without warning)
Chassis works A arm front end,
Cortina mk5 rear axle,
2.0 black top Zetec (sort of 1/2 fittedish if you squint a bit),
Type 9 5 speed.

It's simple, it's fun and it gets the job done ;)

Thanks Phil,
The gear knob is now sitting in our dinningroom window to ward off undesirables ;)

A little update;
Not much to report, except I've found got a few more bits for the swap.
A small starter (cheers eeb43),
Spigot bearing,
Pair of space saver front wheels,
Pair firestone 5.60 145/15 tyres,
Pair 15" rear steels,
Pair 205/70/15 tyres,

The pile gets bigger, I might have to start putting Tetanus back together soon :)

Not much to report except I've got some more bits stashed in the boot,
A CT133 clutch release bearing (been told if I use the standard one I'll need a leg like Arnie),
A pair of heavy duty ford engine mount rubbers,
4 broken trolly jacks (more on them later ;))
A '60's petrol can (could work as a firewall bulge for the thermostat/coil pack?)

I might actually start to bolt stuff together soon?

Whoops!
I have inadvertently bought a set of bike carbs and a manifold off eBay.
Stupid, stupid. I think I'll just hide them in a box up in the loft. This was not part of the plan. Stupid.

Well, I've just done some work on Tetanus! After much grinding of the ali section of the two part sump, the starter motor fits! It only took five test fits to get there as well, as it's the bit that holds all that oil, I thought I'd creep to on it rather than brake though and have to get a new one. While I was dirty I took the chance to change the clutch release bearing. So just the clutch to fit and then I can bolt it all back together.
Progress! At last!!

Good god is there no start to this mans talent?
I did some more today, started by turning Tetanus around, which meant first moving 200odd roof tiles out of the way and down the garden, then pushing the car up the gravel drive and on to the grass to swing it round. Once back in the garage I built up the engine crane and took the Zetec off the engine stand, fitted the new clutch, and spigot bearing then bolted on the gearbox. One big push and the drive train was in the hole! Bolted up the gearbox mount and knocked up a couple of wooden block engine mount, chucked all the crap back into the garage and quickly shut the door.
Little steps, but each one gets it closer to driving :)

I took a couple of Photos, but not a clue how to load them :(

Loading is easy. Go to image hosting above and that will take you to upload image. Build up a collection in the storage area. to load into a thread just press on the little camera icon as you type your post, it's 3rd from right at top of typing window.. Click on the pic you want to use and job done.

Cheers fella, but it's not playing ball, I'm on my geriatric iPhone, I'm guessing that's not helping :(

Let's try this picture malarky.

A bit of grinding of the sump to clear the started motor.

Gearbox mount sorted and some wooden blocks to prop up the engine.

Random picture, because I'm not really sure what I pressed ;)

I managed to get a couple of hour in the garage today, so I set to with the grinder.
I cut of and ground smooth all the old engine mounts on one side, there were the remains of 4 sets. The pintos, rover V8, rover 200 turbo and Essex. I'd left parts of each when I changed each time, but this time I thought I'd better do it properly. What a chore!
The other side will have to wait.

Just snuck into the garage for 15 minutes and hooked up the clutch cable, pushed the pedal and wonder of wonders it looks like it's going to work :)
