Those of you out there in the car scene (so everyone and their dog on here) probably know about the zephyr (white / Flamed Pro Street MK4 Zephyr) that my mate chris had up until the end of last year. He reluctantly sold the car he had owned for over 35 years in order to fulfill a life long dream of owning a yank. Many things get in the way of your dreams, such as life blah blah blah. Anyway by a stroke of luck, a bit of taking a chance, and some good old fashioned help he did it, and its with this post that we welcome him over to the dark side (or more correctly ...the LEFT side) of town.

It was supposed to be at wheelsday but like many others we had to give it a miss due to the event burst water main situation and so apart from a few shakedown runs out and the odd local cruise, Last Sunday was its debut at Krispy Kreme's in New Maldon.

The car never missed a beat

Sunshine, donuts, and flawless reliability what more does anyone need.

Here is the car from start to finish, Hope you enjoy

More build pics to follow.

Lovely looking piece of kit, must have been hard for the owner to let go of the Zephyr after all those years and the different incarnations.

Yeah it was and still is hard to let go of, but I think chris is coming around to the idea of how cool it is to just have to wash and polish the car now as apposed to having to keep working on it like he did with the zephyr. The zephyr was as you said "re incarnated" many times and it just got to the stage where it always seemed to be in between guises and was getting driven less and less. This car is factory fresh, totally reliable, fast, comfortable, respected by mostly everybody regardless of the cars they would normally like and its a car that will hold its value unlike the zephyr that had thousands spent on it over the years and would never be worth what was invested into it.

You have to love a stacked headlight, 2 door hardtop mid sixties muscle car they don't always need to be messed with to look great. and this one looks tip top.

That was a long seven months, and the refit was all done in a night....a very cold night, and I then drove it home to him the next day
