had to shorten the gear stick as i couldnt select 5th as my leg was in the way and fitted a slightly smaller steering wheel to make it easier for me to get in and out. think im going to go with a removable wheel to make things easier.

i want to change the bench seat for a neater one or a pair of bomber seats and im gonna give it a flash over of shiny paint in the next week or so

hi ifan...im sure i have an 11" [i'll double check tomorrow] mountney wheel in my lock up...

its yours if you want it...

cheers...alan

PS...where did you get your mudguards from...they look great....im thinking of running my pop with the front wings removed.

ifan.miller
07-07-13, 04:31 AM
thank you alan, the front ones came with the car but sat 2 inches to high so i just modified them for now to fit nicer but iam going to make a nice pair of slim fit ones for the front. the rears are a new pair of kitcar ones i have had laying around for a couple of years and couldnt even give them away so that turned out ok.

i had to shorten them down by 7 inches as i wanted them to be bobbed.

ifan.miller

made a rough pair of seat bases today and covered them with the leather off the original seat base, this has aloud the driving position to be 4 inches lower giving a comfier driving position. i also gave it a quick lick over in matt blasck to tidy it up due to all the scratches. just until i get it in for paint

Still got the alloy insert, but it will be upholstered in grey leather.

http://www.torquedup.co.uk/forum/imagehosting/usr_images/1/1/5/115_51f56a59dc091.jpg

I experimented with cushions etc and varied the seat height from the plain alloy to about 4" of padding before I decided on the height of the column and wheel. Found the higher i sat the more room I had. Wierd.

Are you going to put a window in the roof. Only reason I ask is that if you do it may be worth having it hinged. Open a little bit, allows air flow and stops the buffeting noise inside the roof when cruising.

ifan.miller
12-10-13, 09:19 AM
i will be putting a window in G, good idea to stop the noise

fad15
12-10-13, 09:58 AM
Thank Danny (Leg Show T) who, when I talked to him about the top; said the reason he fixed the hood clear of the body was to stop it balooning. Other guys Like Ted, say that with a big top the car can start to 'hover' at around 65 ish mph if there isn't a way for the air to get out.

You mentioned that the roof is now out of proportion, but you have an idea.
Just thought while looking at pics you could rake the screen back to shorten the roof. Hope my comments are not pissing you off, but just cant help myself.
