This is Bruce. I adopted him from Foal Farm Animal Rescue a month ago. I had to give him a home because no-one else would. He's a nine-year-old black cat, who lost his front right leg six years ago and now has hyperthyroidism.

    Yeah, I love the underdog(cat).

Well done mate. Bit like supermarket veg these days; if it aint perfect people don't want it. They have no idea what they are missing out on. Both mine were rescue cats and they both had 18 years to entertain, amuse and piss me off.

Tell me about it. I volunteer at Foal Farm, where I adopted Bruce from, and it's always the black cats and the oldies that take the longest time to get adopted.

Bruce's step-sister is also a rescue cat. Taken on at 10 years old along with her sister, Bass who passed away in June, Drum is now 18. Today is the anniversary of her adoption.

Of our six, three are black cats. Pagan is a little witches cat, anti-social with vegetarian tendencies (she's ripped through a plastic bag to eat green peppers before...), Mickey is a fluffy idiot (he's only two, and thinks everything is a game), and Arlo is a massive satisfying big lump (19lbs of solid fat!) that we had from our childminders daughter, who's new landlord said she couldn't have pets.
Each of them is different - they've definitely got their own personalities!

One of mine (my little Cornish Rex, now sadly departed), used to use her bed as a litter tray...
