Anybody into bigger scale models ?

Got a couple of 1;12 & 1;16 scale kits (unfinished of course lol). Hope to finish the 1;12's soon tho.

    Also few 1;18 die-casts.

I used to collect 1:18 ERTL American Muscle and accumulated quite a few but had to sell them a few years back when I was moving around a lot. Had a few Maisto American stuff too. Must dig the pics out when I get chance.

My parents bought me this Monogram `Big T` when I was 12, back in `62, which was the first year it was released.
It inevitably got damaged during a few house moves and left in storage with my collection until I restored it a couple of years ago. The chrome is a tad faded, but it cleaned up fairly well using toothpaste as a buffer to bring back the shine to the bodywork. It now (safely) resides in a living room showcase.

I like the larger scale kits `cause you can detail them to the max. I have a Monogram `Big Deuce` roadster that I bought in the late `60s waiting to be restored (again, damaged during house moves) and a later version of the `Big T` that will be built as a short wheelbase tail high `60s style bucket.
Also in the collection are three 1/16th Revell dragsters including the Beebe & Mulligan FED, and Tony Nancy`s `The Loner` FED; at 16" long, lovely display models when made.

A great site if your into 1/8th rods ...

    put this up before but.....

Its the one that got a full colour page in CC.

I have made a pattern for a 6/71 blower (1/8th scale), pulleys and belt that could be produced in white metal, if anyones interested. No idea on price but 25 quid springs to mind. Maybe also do them in resin. Only going this way if there is a demand for them.

Got more pics if you want to see them?

At first I thought brizey was being funny and posting up a pic. of a real car, then looking closer I realised that the model is sitting on a wall.
Fantastic, must look stunning close up.
I don't think you can beat the 'presence' that larger scale models have.
You can't buy happiness but you can buy a Hemi, and that's kinda the same thing.

That was a curtain ring and a bit of old alloy. Got a thing about deep dished wheels as will become apparent on the FD!!!!
