    New engine build

As promised, this will probably be a long running thread as garage time is short at present.

    Extracting block from packing case.
Re conditioned early 70's block. Think its a D0VE-A.

Mounted on stand, bagged up until next time

    I enjoy the tinkering.
One day it will go up the strip and I'll scare myself

Finally got to have a look at the block and realised I didn't have any thing big enough to install the core plugs.
5.99 and two days later this arrived 19mm 1/2" drive
Hope to get the plugs installed tonight.

Then just got to degrease and paint.
Problem is I just can't be arsed in this heat

Had an unexpected day off today. Suns out so....out she comes.

Chamfered the oil return holes in the valley and the oil pump feed.

Then found some bad surface rust in the bores!
Found this in the back of the garage, worked a treat. Nice clean bores

Had to squirt some Gibbs oil down the bore as lube

Then just pull up and down slowly.

    Degreased block with Gunk.

Cleaned out all the oil ways etc. Then blew dry with air line.

As the block dried you could see the surface rust starting to form!
    Masked up.

    Epoxy primer.
