Sad sight, so sorry. Do you think the heat gun shorted out or something?

Can only guess but the insurance are going to send a forensic man

My thoughts on the heat gun are that it may have seemed to be off but in fact was on and came on after I went out the garage as it was only one and a half hours from nothing to raging inferno

Probably will never know for certain

Car insurance seems okay as when I told them the fire crew said the garage was unsafe they asked me to send photos to speed things up.

Building insurance are talking about replacing the contents of the garage except the car which would be a result have to wait and see

Thanks for all the good comments people

That is one huge mess, hope dealing with the insurance companies works out to be reasonable and you can get the house and garage sorted quickly, once that is done you can then set about with the polishing mop on the Caddy in time for the summer well ok, if you get paid out you might be able to buy something for the summer.

So, so sorry to hear this mate......
As a few on here know, we lost our home, everything we owned and our business to a fire 6 years ago....
People immediately talk about insurance, we had none, but even if you do, nothing can replace the time and effort you have in the things that matter to you.
If there is anything that I can do to help, or you just want to talk to someone that gets what you are going through, please, please don't hesitate.

Holy shit Batman, so sorry for your loss! Thank God they saved the house and the insurance seem to be treating you okay. The old dear that lives next to us is in her 80s so we often worry about her leaving the gas on in her place and blowing her house up.
