Hot Rod Hop (with some bad pics)

Just got back from the Hot Rod Hop and it was absolutely brilliant

This one was free entry but you were asked to donate to the Air Ambulance (god forbid you ever need it) if you enjoyed yourself.

It was stated that Jason Hollamby paid for it and was assisted by his Cannibals car club members and mates

Great site, great turn out and great facilities e.g toilets, showers, security, paramedics.

Three bands on over the weekend and a drum group.

Two marquees one for us oldun's the other for those who prefer dance music.

Traders, food (curry and chips for 3) bar with sensible prices (3.80 for a pint of lager)

Games on the Saturday were superb entertainment

Probably missed a load of stuff.

Big thank you to the Cannibals but especially Jason, wow what a way to say thank you to the Air Ambulance crews, total respect.

Anyway I just took some crappy pics on my phone but the little ankle biter was pulling my hand lol to give an idea of the cars that turned up but there was probably four times more in attendance and quite a few still in the campsite which seems to be the way nowadays.

Best moment of a great weekend:

The atmosphere in the marquee Friday night when the Two Tones were playing and the whole place was bouncing

Worth every penny we put in the buckets over the weekend

Not totally sure as it didn't stay o the showfield long but was on site all weekend.

It has extended bodywork to meet the bellflower tips at a guess I would say Ford or Mercury/Lincoln

My pics are crap as it had metal/rainbow flake in the paint

Thanks John. Some shows let dogs in and some don't, but think quite a few are cool with it

Roof n screen look the same as an Impala.... guess that was a GM thing at the time

Cool spot Mr Rumble, image that might be quite a rare car being a ragtop too

Did you take your new car.....or is it that Brown Road Runner

Yeah took my new car but mine is a yellow Superbee with a tan roof.

A nice guy I met wanted to buy it as when he was a kid someone took him over a 100mph for the first time in his life in an identical car. That is what got him into cars and he now owns a model A rod and is doing Pendine this year.

Took his number etc and he said get in touch even if it is ten years from now if I ever want to sell

Good spot on the car John I checked first about the dog as it was a farm but they were cool as long as it was on a lead etc.
